About Us
McGill's Counselling Psychology Student Society was founded in 2020 by graduate students. Based in Montreal, we are an active and enthusiastic Student Organization with social and academic events taking place year-round.
Marianne Lau
Co-president
Marianne is in her first year of the PhD in counselling psychology. Her dream is to one day work as a psychologist in humanitarian aid. In her free time, she loves to do yoga, read, and watch horror movies!
Michelle Azzi
Co-president
Michelle is in the third year of the PhD in counselling psychology. In the future, she aims to be a practicing psychologist in the public and private sector. She hopes to serve as many members of the community as she possibly can. Michelle enjoys learning new languages, playing the piano, and learning about different cultures. More recently, she has enjoyed learning about finance and investing.
Sereena Pigeon
VP Professional Development
Sereena is in her third year of her PhD in Counselling Psychology. She plans to eventually work in the public and private sectors with a variety of clientele, particularly those who have experienced trauma. Sereena loves to spend time in nature, play board games, and dance Zumba in her spare time!
Malka Hershon
VP Social
Malka is in her first year of her MA in Couselling Psychology (Project stream). She hopes to pursue her PhD and practice as a psychologist. If she's not doing school work, you could probably catch Malka in the kitchen or teaching dance!
Alesha Frederickson
VP Social
Alesha is a first-year Ph.D. student in Counselling Psychology. One of her many career goals is to open up her own clinic one day. Although she wants to work with various clientele, she is particularly interested in working with emerging adults and those who have experienced trauma. Alesha spends her free time cooking, sewing, thrift shopping, and watching documentaries.
Olivia Crescenzi
MA Project Representative
Olivia is in her first year of the MA in Counselling Psychology (project stream). She hopes to pursue her PhD and eventually work as a licensed psychologist and professor. In her free time, Â you can find her spinning, walking, or looking at cute dog pictures.
Audrey Mariamo
VP Communications
Audrey is currently a second-year PhD student in counselling psychology. She hopes to become a licensed clinical psychologist working in both the public and private sectors. In her free time, Audrey enjoys reading, crocheting, and playing the piano. Fun fact: she recently started collecting stamps.
